The Frankfurt Prosecutor General's Office, customs, and police have arrested three suspects of a suspected internationally operating drug gang after roughly one year of investigations. The gang is accused of smuggling approximately 2.5 tons of cocaine from South America to Germany and the Netherlands.

Investigations against 20 suspects

For just over a year, the Frankfurt Prosecutor General's Office, customs, and police have been investigating 20 suspects. As the Frankfurt Prosecutor General's Office announced on Tuesday, around two and a half tons of cocaine from Brazil and Colombia are said to have been smuggled into Germany by cargo planes or container ships between February 2025 and January 2026 alone. The officials estimated the street value at around 180 million euros.
