At Lake Attersee in Austria, the recovery operations for the crashed small aircraft, in which German occupants are believed to have perished, have begun.
The wreckage of the small aircraft that crashed into Lake Attersee over the weekend has been being lifted from the lake bed since Monday. As the Austrian news agency APA reported, citing investigators, special divers and cranes were involved in the preparations for the recovery. According to this information, the accident site is near Steinbach am Attersee in the Upper Austrian Salzkammergut.
According to the current state of the investigation, the occupants are German nationals. The citizenship is being verified, it was said. The authorities initially provided no more precise information on the number, identity, and origin of those affected. There were also no conclusive findings on Monday regarding the course of the accident and the possible cause of the crash.
