Las Vegas, June 15, 2026

Rod Brind'Amour has led the Carolina Hurricanes as head coach to the second Stanley Cup triumph in franchise history, winning the most important trophy in club ice hockey once again — 20 years after his own title as captain in 2006.

In the sixth game of the final series, the Hurricanes defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 3-0 in Las Vegas and completed the overall series win of 4-2 in the best-of-seven. The team celebrated the decisive victory on hostile ice, cheered on by thousands of traveling fans. For Carolina, it is the second title in the club's history after 2006.

Brind'Amour is only the seventh person to have won the Stanley Cup with the same team as both a player and a head coach. The Canadian, who turned 55 in February, had led Carolina to their first-ever title as captain in 2006 and took over as head coach in 2018. At the time, the Hurricanes were not yet among the NHL's top teams.
