The EU and NATO were informed of the incident according to statements from Bucharest. The Romanian Defense Minister announced that airspace surveillance in the Black Sea would be further intensified.

Experts see the drone attack as a new quality of Russian military strategy. Through the use of low-cost multipurpose drones, Russia is attempting to put pressure on the energy infrastructure of neighboring NATO states while simultaneously increasing the defense expenditures of the affected countries.
