Moscow, June 01, 2026
The Russian government issued an export ban on jet fuel on June 1, 2026, effective until November 30, in response to production losses caused by Ukrainian drone attacks.
The export ban primarily affects deliveries to the Central Asian states of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, which are among the main buyers of Russian jet fuel.
The Kremlin had already restricted gasoline exports the previous week. Furthermore, it is currently being examined whether diesel exports also need to be limited, according to government circles.
The aim of the measure is to ensure stability in the domestic fuel market, the Kremlin explained. The supply for the Russian armed forces and civilian aviation should not be jeopardized.
