Russian shelling of Ukrainian gas stations: Woman killed, attack on Russian refinery reported

In parallel to the attacks on Ukrainian territory, Naftorynok reported an attack on the refinery in the city of Ufa in the Urals. According to the service, the facility is located approximately 1,300 kilometers from Ukraine. There was no independent confirmation of the attack on the Russian refinery initially.

Counter-attack on Russian refinery

In the central Ukrainian region of Dnipropetrovsk, several drone attacks were repelled according to the Ukrainian armed forces; nevertheless, some projectiles hit civilian infrastructure. Rescue services were deployed to search for trapped people and extinguish fires. Authorities called on the population to seek air-raid shelters and follow the instructions of emergency services.

Drone activity and defensive measures were also reported by the Ukrainian armed forces in the capital region of Kyiv and in Crimea. According to the Air Force, several Shahed-type drones were intercepted. Nevertheless, damage to residential buildings and infrastructure occurred in isolated locations.

Reactions and consequences

In recent weeks, Volodymyr Zelensky had repeatedly emphasized that Russia was deliberately putting pressure on Ukraine's energy supply. Attacks on gas stations and refineries were aimed at disrupting fuel supplies for the military and the population. According to its own statements, the Ukrainian government is working on emergency plans to stabilize fuel supply.

International observers point out that both sides have increasingly targeted energy and logistics sector targets in recent months. The growing range of Ukrainian drones, which can penetrate as far as the Urals, is changing the pattern of mutual attacks according to military experts.

Outlook

The city of Penza, southeast of Moscow, is approximately 550 kilometers from Ukraine and has also been mentioned in this context as the location of industrial facilities that are within range of attacks. Naftorynok stated that its own research was based on data from Ukrainian and Russian sources as well as reports from regional authorities.

Residents in the affected Ukrainian areas reported power outages and limited mobile phone service following the overnight attacks. Aid organizations provided emergency generators and fuel reserves to supply hospitals and waterworks.

According to the Ukrainian authorities, the situation remains tense: further attacks on energy and fuel infrastructure are likely. Naftorynok announced that it would continue to publicly record the documented attacks and update them weekly.
