Former world number one Serena Williams celebrated her comeback to the WTA Tour on Tuesday with a doubles victory at the grass-court tournament at Queen's Club in London.

Comeback after four years

Williams, who according to her own statements had received a wildcard for the tournament in London, took to the court alongside 19-year-old Canadian Victoria Mboko. The pair prevailed in the first round against the third-seeded duo of Nicole Melichar-Martinez of the USA and Erin Routliffe of New Zealand 7:6 (7:2), 6:2. For the 44-year-old Williams, it was her first match on the professional tour after a four-year break.
