Serena Williams has requested a wildcard for the doubles competition at the WTA grass-court tournament in Queen's Club, London, beginning June 8, according to a report by British newspaper The Telegraph.
The 44-year-old American, who retired from professional tennis in 2022, is reportedly planning a comeback alongside 19-year-old Canadian Victoria Mboko. The pairing was revealed by former world number one Andy Roddick on his podcast "Served."
Mboko is currently ranked number nine in the WTA singles rankings. Williams, a mother of two, won 23 Grand Slam singles titles during her illustrious career before stepping away from the sport.
