A small aircraft crashed into the roof structure of a residential house in the locality of Ganderkesee in the district of Oldenburg in Lower Saxony at around 11 a.m. on Saturday morning; both occupants of the aircraft were killed.
Emergency services deployed
According to police, they confirmed in the evening the death of both occupants of the aircraft. The police had initially spoken of one dead and one missing before the search and recovery operations were completed. As dpa reported, the crash occurred on Saturday morning from a cause initially unknown.
The fire department and other units of the rescue services and police were called to the plane crash at around 11:00 a.m. According to the initial findings of the emergency services, no residents were in the house when the plane crashed onto the roof. As the fire department announced, the residents had been able to leave the area beforehand, so that, according to the current state of knowledge, no other persons came to harm.
