A multi-story building in Görlitz collapsed on Monday evening, resulting in one confirmed fatality and two individuals still missing as rescue efforts enter their third day.
The collapse occurred at approximately 5:30 PM on Monday in the eastern German city of Görlitz. Emergency services responded immediately to reports of the incident, with rescue operations continuing around the clock since then.
Authorities have confirmed the death of a 25-year-old Romanian woman whose body was recovered from the rubble on Wednesday evening. Police spokesperson Anja Leuschner stated that the victim had been officially identified and next of kin had been notified.
Two individuals remain unaccounted for: a 26-year-old Romanian woman who shared an apartment with the deceased, and a 48-year-old man with dual Bulgarian-German citizenship who was reportedly in Görlitz on business.
