CSU chairman Markus Söder presented a ten-point plan on Monday for renewal and stronger involvement of the grassroots following a meeting of the party board in Munich, with which he is having the CSU respond to the weak result in the March local elections.

The aim was "to take the party along, to motivate it, and also to organize it better," said the Bavarian Minister-President after the meeting. According to his statements, the ten points include better involvement of the party base at party conferences, digital surveys on current decisions, and so-called grassroots conferences. A board retreat, internally referred to as a "think tank," is also planned. Söder emphasized: "Ich hoffe, auf neue Einigkeit."
