The Spanish national team is on its way to Madrid after winning its second World Cup title, where King Felipe VI and Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez will welcome the squad on Monday and celebrate together with the fans.
Arrival and reception by the King
The plane carrying the new world champions is scheduled to land at the capital's Barajas airport at around 12:50 p.m. King Felipe VI, who was already present at the final at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, will then receive the squad led by captain Rodri at 4:30 p.m. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez had already congratulated them on Sunday via the X platform, writing in capital letters: "WIR SIND WELTMEISTER!!" Sánchez added: "Danke, Team."
