Spanish police searched the headquarters of the ruling Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) in Madrid on Tuesday as part of a judicially ordered investigation into possible illegal party financing.

The Guardia Civil confirmed that officers were deployed inside the party's central offices. The force did not provide further details, citing the ongoing nature of the investigations.

The search targets information related to the financing of the party, which is led by Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. The operation marks a significant escalation in a series of corruption scandals confronting the PSOE.
