Update of August 18, 2026: In the Stuttgart trial of three alleged Russian agents, the Higher Regional Court (OLG) Stuttgart will deliver its verdict on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. The Federal Prosecutor's Office accuses the defendants of having prepared attacks on freight transport in Germany on behalf of Moscow. This concludes proceedings that have drawn attention for months to possible sabotage operations against the Federal Republic.
What is new since August 17, 2026: The court has announced it will deliver its verdict on Tuesday – the central procedural step is now imminent. At the same time, according to reports from the hearings, the defense has requested acquittals for all three defendants. This demand stands in direct contradiction to the Federal Prosecutor's Office's charges and makes the ruling a directional decision.
