Südzucker slightly reduced its revenue in the first quarter of fiscal 2026/27, but significantly increased its operating profit and slightly raised its revenue forecast for the current fiscal year.

The SDax-listed group, headquartered in Mannheim, communicated the figures published on Thursday. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) climbed by a good 40 percent year-on-year to 135 million euros in the three months through the end of June. Revenue, however, fell by slightly more than four percent to just under 2.1 billion euros.

Südzucker attributed this, among other things, to lower costs in the sugar business and higher prices for ethanol, although revenues in the sugar business declined significantly due to lower sales volumes and prices that fell once again.
