German swimmers Isabel Gose and Maya Werner have won the silver and bronze medals in the 1500m freestyle at the European Championships in Paris.
In the women's 1500m freestyle at the Swimming European Championships in Paris, Isabel Gose and Maya Werner celebrated a German double success. Gose touched the wall after 15:49.28 minutes and had to concede only to Italy's Simona Quadarella, who defended her title in 15:47.89 minutes. Werner finished third in 15:54.27 minutes, completing a strong result for the German team.
For Gose, who trains in Magdeburg, it was further evidence of her endurance strength over the long freestyle distance, following the experiences of the past years. The 1500 metres is considered one of the toughest events in swimming, where endurance, consistent pace and tactical race management are decisive. With her silver medal, the German further extended her collection at international championships.
