Hamburg, 10 July 2026
A team led by director Alexander Klessinger and actor Enrique Fiß brings the play "Timmy – Die Hope stirbt zuletzt" to the stage on 11 July at the Hamburger Ernst Deutsch Theater, artistically processing the fate of the humpback whale stranded on the Baltic Sea coast.
The project carries the subtitle "Passion Timmy" and approaches the drama in three parts. "Passion Timmy" aims to take up the drama as an exaggerated passion play, as stated in the announcement. The makers process the events surrounding the stranded humpback whale using performative means and ritually elevate an already existing ritual moment. "Es gibt einen rituellen Moment, den es ja auch um Timmy herum gab", explains the team. "Diesen Moment ziehen wir größer, indem wir ihn wirklich religiös aufladen."
