As the current RTL/ntv "Trendbarometer" shows, 82 percent of German citizens are dissatisfied with the work so far of the governing coalition. As a result, public sentiment toward the black-red coalition under Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) and Vice Chancellor Lars Klingbeil (SPD) has further darkened. The black-red coalition has been stuck in a polling trough for some time.
