A 23-year-old Lebanese national is to answer as of Wednesday before the Linz Regional Court to charges of attempted murder and bodily harm, for a knife attack committed in December 2025 against a 16-year-old Iraqi resident in their shared refugee shelter.
According to information reported by the APA news agency, the defendant, a 23-year-old Lebanese man, is being tried for allegedly having intended to kill a young Iraqi who was only 16 years old. The events took place in December 2025 within the refugee accommodation facility they shared.
The defendant is being prosecuted in particular on charges of attempted murder and assault and battery. The prosecution accuses him of stabbing the victim under circumstances that still need to be clarified before the court.
