On the second hearing day in the trial against a 17-year-old who is alleged to have attacked his mother and sister with a knife in Pasching (Linz-Land district) in June of the previous year, further witnesses were heard on Friday, including a neighbor.

Background of the Offense

The defendant was 16 years old at the time of the offense and is now 17. He is charged with attempted murder in two cases. According to the prosecution, after an argument with his father over taking medication, he stabbed his mother multiple times with a utility knife in the living room. The 43-year-old suffered serious injuries; during the trial, the public prosecutor's office spoke of more than 30, in some cases raised, scars on her face and upper body.
