Salzburg, 01 July 2026
A 70-year-old had to answer on Wednesday at the Regional Court of Salzburg for the charge of attempted murder of his ex-wife, whom he is alleged to have inflicted three stab wounds to the upper body and knee area with a kitchen knife in January 2026.
According to the indictment, the man attacked his ex-wife in her home in the Flachgau district with a kitchen knife with a blade length of 20 centimeters, inflicting three stab wounds to the upper body and knee area. The injuries were life-threatening according to the public prosecutor's office. It was only because the woman fled that the accused was prevented from further stabbing her, "otherwise she might not be alive anymore," the prosecutor said.
