What happened on the B 20?

According to information provided by the emergency services, the incident occurred on Monday morning on the Mariazeller Straße, the federal highway B 20, in the Styrian town of Turnau. A truck had been transporting dozens of beer crates on its loading area, which, according to the current state of the investigation, were apparently not sufficiently secured.

While the vehicle was in motion, the crates came loose from the truck's body and fell onto the roadway. Dozens of beer crates then lay on the asphalt of the federal highway. Most of the bottles inside shattered on impact, leaving a wide trail of glass shards stretching across the roadway.
