US President Donald Trump announced new attacks on Iran during a meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at the White House, including a strike on the underground nuclear facility at Mount Kuh-e Kolang near Natanz.

Background: 'Pickaxe Mountain' and the suspicion

Trump justified the threat with reference to Iran's nuclear program. Western intelligence agencies suspect that Iran is building a secret uranium enrichment facility deep underground near the existing Natanz facility. The facility at Mount Kuh-e Kolang, internationally also known as 'Pickaxe Mountain', lies south of the well-known Natanz complex in central Iran. According to Trump's account, this installation is a legitimate US target.
