Two members of a four-rider German motorcycle group were injured on the B179 Fernpass road in the Austrian municipality of Pflach on Thursday afternoon when a 40-year-old New Zealand national driving a van from the Oberallgäu district suddenly indicated left and began a U-turn in dense traffic, according to the Polizeiinspektion Reutte.

The accident occurred at around 15:30 on the B179 in the direction of Germany, where traffic volume was high at the time, police said. A group of four German men aged between 51 and 55, from the districts of Landsberg am Lech and Aichach-Friedberg, was overtaking a line of vehicles at roughly 30 to 40 km/h when the van driver ahead of them activated the left indicator and began to turn around.
