The U.S. Department of Defense on June 9, 2026, published an updated version of its 1260H list naming major Chinese corporations — including Alibaba, Baidu, and BYD — as companies that, in Washington's assessment, support the Chinese military.

The long-awaited update replaces a list from 2025 and is nearly identical to a version the Pentagon briefly published in February before withdrawing it without explanation. The new document lists roughly 80 corporations and their subsidiaries — the U.S. Department of Defense stated the firms met the criteria for classification as 'Chinese military companies' and were active in the United States. In total, the 1260H list, also known as the CMC list (Chinese Military Companies), contains 188 companies. Companies are included if military organizations can exert direct or indirect influence over them, or if they are part of military-civilian integration, and most listings are justified by connections to state bodies such as the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) or the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
