Uber has introduced an audio recording feature for rides, allowing passengers to decide whether to share the recording with Uber in case of an incident.
The new feature is intended to provide additional protection and a greater sense of security, as stated by Uber.
According to Uber, the audio recording feature is available to users in the in-app Safety Center, where passengers can flexibly activate the audio recording before or during the ride.
How the Feature Works
After activation, the recording must be manually started during the ride, and if the feature is activated before the ride begins, drivers are informed that the ride may be recorded and can decline it.
The feature offers the ability to request support directly through the Uber app, providing an additional layer of safety for passengers.
