Gronau, 29 May 2026
Udo Lindenberg, the legendary German rock musician known as the 'Panikrocker', unexpectedly cancelled his appearance at the 'Udo Lindenberg & Friends' event in Gronau on Friday due to health reasons.
The Brost Foundation, the Essen-based organizer of the event, announced the cancellation and stated that Lindenberg is currently in hospital treatment. The foundation said he will need a period of rest in the coming weeks on the advice of his doctors.
The specific reason for his hospital treatment was not disclosed. The foundation communicated the news on Friday midday, just days before the event was scheduled to take place.
Exhibition to Open as Planned
The cancelled event was part of a series of celebrations and special activities planned around Lindenberg's 80th birthday, which he celebrated on May 17. Gronau, a city in the Westphalia region, is his birthplace.
