The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) announced on Sunday that attacks, attempted attacks and harassment by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in the Strait of Hormuz are continuing.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most important shipping routes. Every day, oil tankers and cargo ships pass through the narrow sea passage between Iran and Oman. Any disruption in this corridor has immediate effects on global trade and energy supply.
The UKMTO, the United Kingdom's maritime security authority based in Dubai, serves as a reporting point for ships under the British flag and for internationally operating vessels. According to its own information, the authority recorded several incidents in the sea area on a Sunday.
