The US Department of Justice has approved Paramount's planned acquisition of media conglomerate Warner Bros. Discovery, valued at approximately $111 billion, without conditions.

After its review, the US antitrust authority concluded that the merger would harm neither competition nor US consumers — neither in the TV or streaming business nor in film production. A central hurdle for the megadeal, which has been under discussion for months, has thus been cleared.

Paramount now intends to take full ownership of Warner Bros. — including its film studios, streaming offerings, and television channels. The acquired company's portfolio includes well-known brands such as «Harry Potter», «Lord of the Rings», «Batman» and «Barbie», as well as the DC superhero universe and the pay-TV business centered on the HBO channel.
