The planned takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery by Paramount, led by CEO David Ellison, is being delayed: Shareholders are now expected to vote on the multi-billion-dollar deal in March, while Paramount is wooing approval with special payments of around 650 million dollars per quarter.

Paramount's management, led by David Ellison, has promised Warner shareholders additional payments if the takeover is not wrapped up by the end of September. Around 650 million dollars per quarter are to flow to keep the owners on board during the ongoing antitrust reviews. With the special payments, Paramount aims to secure the trust of Warner shareholders while easing the time pressure in the negotiations.
