Washington, June 13, 2026

The US military has shot down all Iranian drones that attacked ships in the Strait of Hormuz on June 13, 2026, according to US regional command Centcom.

US regional command Centcom stated that ship traffic through the strait continued without disruption. The command did not provide a specific number of drones shot down. US President Trump also stated that the military had escorted several tankers through the Strait of Hormuz.

The incidents come against the backdrop of a ceasefire between the US and Iran in effect since early April, as well as ongoing negotiations over a peace agreement. As Deutschlandfunk reported, "in the past days, despite a ceasefire in effect since early April and negotiations over a peace agreement, there had been intense mutual attacks".
