US trail runner Tyler Andrews has set a new record for the fastest ascent of Mount Everest, completing the route from Base Camp to the summit in under 10 hours.

According to ExplorersWeb, Andrews started his ascent from Base Camp at an altitude of 5,364 meters and reached the summit at 8,850 meters in 9 hours and 55 minutes.

Andrews' record-breaking ascent is a significant achievement, considering the extreme altitude and harsh weather conditions on the mountain.

The previous record was held by Lakpa Gelu Sherpa, who completed the ascent in 10 hours and 56 minutes in 2003.
