Vienna, August 8, 2026

The City of Vienna is extending its special regulation with extended opening hours at four outdoor pools—introduced due to the heatwave—until the end of August.

Four locations across the city

Vienna is currently experiencing a pronounced heatwave, to which the city administration is responding by expanding bathing hours. The extension of opening hours at selected outdoor pools, originally planned only until the following Sunday, will now be maintained until the end of August.

Four locations across the entire city area are affected by the special regulation, in order to ensure even coverage: the Kongreßbad in Ottakring, the Sommerbad Laaerberg in Favoriten, the Brigittenauer Bad in Brigittenau, as well as the Strandbad Alte Donau. This means that residents of all Viennese districts have access to at least one of the extended-hours pools.
