Weather in Styria: Unsettled start, then high summer returns

Tuesday brings calmer weather

On Tuesday, the weather situation calms significantly. A mix of sun and clouds dominates, with precipitation hardly an issue. Only the wind remains moderate to brisk in Upper Styria and in the mountainous regions, considerably weaker in the southeast. At the same time, temperatures rise noticeably – with highs of up to 31 degrees, summery warmth returns.

By midweek, a cold front is expected to move across Styria from the north. While it will become overcast at times and isolated showers are possible in the northern and eastern parts of Upper Styria, overall it remains dry in many places. The north wind freshens considerably at times, especially in gusts. In the south, the sun can also assert itself in between, with temperatures reaching up to nearly 30 degrees there.

Thursday shows itself somewhat more stable again, according to the forecast. In the west, rather sunny weather dominates, while in the eastern half, clouds move through repeatedly. During the course of the day, individual cumulus clouds form mainly over the mountains, but it mostly remains dry. Temperatures range widely between 24 and 29 degrees.

Wednesday and Thursday alternating

Friday will be sunny and hot, with temperatures rising to 27 to 32 degrees. The thunderstorm tendency remains low according to the current outlook. The country is thus heading toward the next heat wave.

Across the country, a similar picture emerges. On Monday, individual rain showers still move through, especially in the north and east, before the weather increasingly calms during the course of the day. In addition, a brisk west to northwesterly wind blows at times, particularly from Upper Austria to Burgenland. Depending on the region, temperatures reach pleasant 20 to 28 degrees.

Already on Tuesday, the warm air becomes noticeably noticeable. With plenty of sunshine, temperatures rise to 25 to 32 degrees. Only isolated brief rain showers are still possible. Already from Tuesday, temperatures rise significantly in many places, according to the GeoSphere Austria forecast.

A look at all of Austria

The summery weather continues toward midweek. Although denser clouds move through repeatedly, especially in the east and along the eastern edge of the Alps, overall it remains predominantly dry. Highs range between 24 and 30 degrees.

On Thursday, high pressure influence ensures even more stable weather. Plenty of sunshine and temperatures of up to 32 degrees characterize the day. Only in the northeast are isolated denser clouds and local showers possible.

Friday as the peak of the heat wave

The peak of the new heat wave is finally brought by Friday. Under predominantly sunny skies, temperatures of 26 to 34 degrees are expected across the country. It will be particularly hot in western Austria. Regionally, highs of up to 34 degrees are then possible. Some weather models even expect that temperatures could rise again to 40 degrees toward the end of the month. Only in the mountainous regions and in the south can individual cumulus clouds form in the afternoon, from which isolated brief thunderstorms may develop.

It is unclear how long the heat will last. The weather models currently do not provide a uniform forecast for the days after the weekend.
