The environmental organization WWF has called on Vienna City Councillor Ulli Sima (SPÖ) to retroactively report the renaturation gap in the Lower Lobau in the Donau-Auen National Park to the EU and to coordinate this with the state of Lower Austria.

Demand Addressed to the City of Vienna

The environmental organization WWF has appealed to Vienna City Councillor Ulli Sima (SPÖ) to retroactively supplement a previously unreported renaturation gap in the Lower Lobau under the EU Renaturation Law. According to the WWF, the issue concerns areas that come into question as suitable renaturation sites but do not yet appear in the national reporting register. The Lower Lobau is part of the Donau-Auen National Park and is considered one of Austria's most important floodplain habitats.
