Berlin, 30 July 2026

The Berlin techno parade "Zug der Liebe," planned for the summer, has been cancelled after the organising body Rave The Planet pointed to the changed social climate following the attack on the margins of Christopher Street Day.

The decision was announced on Wednesday. The organisers explained that holding the parade this year would have been tied to massive conditions, including road closures, personal checks, and a significantly increased police deployment. These conditions would not match the spirit of the event, according to the explanation given.

„Was diesen Entschluss jedoch unausweichlich machte, ist die spürbare Veränderung des gesellschaftlichen Klimas", the organisers stated, according to a report by the Abendschau. The parade, which for years has been considered a sign of tolerance, diversity, and open urban culture, was originally supposed to run through central Berlin.
