Two suspected members of a Georgian criminal group have been identified during the investigation into a series of acid burglaries in Vienna, the investigating authorities involved said.

The arrests are connected to a series of burglaries in which the perpetrators used acid to gain entry to apartments and commercial premises. The corrosive substance was used to damage doors and locks, allowing the perpetrators to access the properties.

The investigators identified the two suspects as part of a cross-border operation. The Vienna State Criminal Investigation Office, the Lower Austria State Criminal Investigation Office, and the Operational Unit for Combating Street Crime worked closely together, according to sources close to the investigation.
