The second Youth Monitor of the Vienna Chamber of Labour (AK) shows that inflation continues to shape the living reality of young people in Austria and hits low-income groups particularly hard.
The Youth Monitor of the Vienna Chamber of Labour, presented on Tuesday, paints the picture of a generation that has to cope with persistent inflation. 47 percent of those surveyed said they had cut back on food over the past twelve months. 18 percent overdrew their bank account, and four in ten respondents had to dip into their savings. Only about half rated their own financial situation as satisfactory, and just 30 percent said they could "gut leben".
