Apple is planning extensive changes to its Apple Watch lineup, including new form factors and a fitness tracker without an integrated screen in the style of Whoop, according to a report by Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman.
According to information from Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple is working on a fundamental restructuring of its wearable ecosystem. The company is reportedly considering several new form factors for the Apple Watch as well as an additional device that does away with a traditional display and instead relies on LED indicators or a minimalist status display.
The sport-oriented tracker, internally referred to as a "fitness tracker," is said to be modeled on devices like the Whoop band, which operates without a touchscreen and evaluates its data through a companion app. This device category targets primarily endurance athletes and health-conscious users who want to continuously track their training and recovery data.
