Vienna, 14 July 2026

State Secretary Alexander Pröll announced the launch of the Digital Skills Initiative (DKO) together with 30 companies, organizations and institutions at the Federal Chancellery, with the aim of centrally bundling and expanding digital education in Austria.

At a press conference on Tuesday at the Federal Chancellery, the State Secretary for Digitalization presented the initiative as a broad-based cooperation between politics, business and the social partners. Pröll spoke of an initial "Commitment" and announced that he wanted to bring additional companies into the pact within a year. He described the 30 partners present as "Vertragspartner" and "quasi Gründungsmitglieder".

Scope and Offer

At its launch, the initiative comprises around 50 educational offerings with more than 145 courses, modules and learning games, totaling more than 1,200 hours of content. 15 of the initial 30 partners had already contributed concrete educational offerings to the first package of measures. The aim is to reach both beginners and advanced learners, regardless of age and prior knowledge.
