According to the governor, a baby was killed in a drone attack on the Moscow region; Russian authorities reported the downing of dozens of Ukrainian drones around the capital.
The governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, said on social media that a drone had set a residential building on fire in the town of Yegoryevsk, around 100 kilometers southeast of the capital. A baby was killed in the attack, he wrote. According to the governor, 60 drones were shot down or electronically disabled overnight into Tuesday over locations around the capital. Further details on the exact sequence of events and on possible injuries were not initially given.
Russian air defense in constant operation
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that 419 Ukrainian drones had been intercepted nationwide overnight. The figures could not initially be independently verified. The Ukrainian side did not initially comment concretely on the attack on the Moscow region. Moscow has for months accused Kyiv of deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure with drone strikes; the Ukrainian leadership generally denies this.
