Paris, 24 July 2026

The French major bank BNP Paribas posted net profit of around 4.3 billion euros in the second quarter of 2026, beating analyst expectations, the bank announced on Thursday in Paris.

Revenues rose sharply: BNP Paribas increased its total revenues by twelve percent year-on-year to 14.1 billion euros. Bottom line, the bank recorded a profit of just over 4.3 billion euros in the second quarter, roughly one third more than a year earlier. This was more than analysts had expected on average.

Equities Trading Drives Growth

The largest growth jump was recorded in the equities trading and prime brokerage business, whose revenues surged 43 percent to a record level. The bank benefited from high volatility on the financial markets, triggered by the Iran war. Group CEO Jean-Laurent Bonnafe has expanded investment banking into a central pillar of the bank in recent years.
