The man was spending the day on a boat with his wife when he jumped into the sea and did not resurface, according to local authorities.
His wife immediately raised the alarm, prompting a swift response from the Lignano harbor authority, which was able to reach her vessel within a short time.
The Incident at Sea
Despite the rapid arrival of rescue assets, the man could not be found alive.
The harbor team first located the boat the couple had been on, then discovered his lifeless body in the surrounding water.
