The CDU workers' wing has come out against the obligation planned by the coalition to require a sick note from the first day of illness and has called on the black-red federal government to drop the plan.
CDA demands withdrawal of the reform
The deputy chairman of the Christian Democratic Workers' Association (CDA), Christian Bäumler, told the "Tagesspiegel": "Die Koalition muss dieses völlig unnötige Thema schnell abräumen." Most of the people he had spoken with about it were appalled by the announced obligation to produce a sick note on day one. Bäumler stressed that the coalition should turn to other issues "statt das Signal an die Menschen in Deutschland zu senden, dass sie ihnen misstraut".
