A 34-year-old German climber from Hamburg fell approximately eight meters into the rope on Saturday at the Wilder Kaiser in Tyrol and was brought by emergency medical helicopter to Kufstein Hospital with injuries of undetermined severity.

The accident occurred on Saturday, July 11, 2026, on the via ferrata in the municipal area of Kufstein in Tyrol. According to the rescue teams, the group had started the multi-pitch route "Gatto Nero" at the northwest base of the Kleine Halt at around 10:00 a.m. The injured woman was at an altitude of 2,116 meters at the time of the fall.

According to information from the mountain rescue service, the rope team consisted of two 34-year-old women from Dresden and Hamburg, as well as two men aged 29 and 38. All four are described as experienced climbers. When the two men were at the belay station of the third pitch, the 34-year-old German woman from Hamburg climbed up to join them.
