In the crash of a Germany-registered Beechcraft G36 Bonanza near the Croatian airfield of Medulin, four Austrians lost their lives; the Croatian investigation authority AIN cites as the probable cause an engine failure due to fuel shortage.
The Air, Maritime and Railway Traffic Accidents Investigation Agency (AIN) has published initial details on the cause of the plane crash in which four people were killed last Friday. The Beechcraft G36 Bonanza aircraft with the German registration "D-ENTT" took off on June 4 at around 10:20 a.m. from Lienz-Nikolsdorf airfield in East Tyrol toward the Medulin sports airfield in Istria.
At around 11:18 a.m. local time, the aircraft crashed about two to three kilometers southwest of the destination airfield onto a flat grassy area. According to AIN, the flight to Istria initially proceeded normally before the accident occurred in the crucial phase.
