Bonn, 29 May 2026

Deutsche Telekom and the Verdi union announced on Thursday evening that they have reached a new collective bargaining agreement for approximately 60,000 tariff employees across Germany, ending a dispute that had prompted several warning strikes.

The deal was struck in the fourth round of negotiations after a 36-hour marathon session. It runs for 33 months, expiring on December 31, 2028.

Pay Rises Structured Over Three Years

A central component of the agreement is a substantial increase in the so-called additional monthly payment, a permanent collectively bargained allowance for group employees. From August, this component will rise from 190 euros to 340 euros for full-time staff.

The additional monthly payment will increase again on July 1 of the coming year, climbing by a further 140 euros to reach 480 euros. From June 2028, collectively bargained table salaries will be raised by 2.4 percent.
