Austrian sugar producer Agrana processed 1.9 million tonnes of sugar beet from the previous year's harvest into 310,000 tonnes of sugar at the Tulln sugar factory between autumn 2025 and January 2026, while ongoing drought is increasingly putting the domestic beet industry under pressure.

According to the company, the domestic sugar industry is facing growing climatic risks. As Agrana spokesperson Markus Simak reports, the previous year's harvest was processed at the Tulln sugar factory between autumn 2025 and January 2026, with 1.9 million tonnes of sugar beet processed into 310,000 tonnes of sugar. The group described these volumes as the result of an exceptional cultivation year, in which weather conditions strongly influenced yields and lifting windows.
