The Federal Ministry of Economics under Federal Economics Minister Katherina Reiche (CDU) has presented a draft for a transitional rule within the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), intended to cushion owners of small solar systems from 2027 onward.
According to the draft published on Friday evening, operators of new solar systems with up to 25 kilowatts of installed capacity will, from 2027, only receive a guaranteed feed-in tariff for a maximum of 36 months. Afterwards, they must market their electricity directly via service providers on the power exchange, where compensation fluctuates and is largely unpredictable. Previously, the fixed feed-in tariff applied over a period of 20 years.
