A man from Graz who had been missing since the previous evening was found dead on the Goassteige late in the evening after hut staff and family members triggered the rescue chain.
The man had failed to reach his destination in the evening. The innkeeper of the Admonter Haus and the missing man's parents then alerted the emergency services at around 10:15 p.m. A search operation was subsequently launched, with alpine police officers also taking part.
According to the current state of the investigation, there is no indication of third-party involvement. As the Leoben Public Prosecutor's Office announced, however, investigations into the exact cause of death are still ongoing. Official details regarding the exact circumstances of the fall were not initially released.
